Crothie

Croíthe fuse post-punk urgency with echoes of Fontaines D.C., their black-and-white heart logo pierced by eight swords reflecting themes of anguish, love and inevitable collapse. Frontman Caodan Connolly alternates intimate and soaring vocals; his guitar and tambourine punctuate the band’s dynamic arrangements.

Ben Byrne’s riffs and Frances Barron’s bass lock into a taut guitar-bass interplay, while newcomer Keevy McGowan drives momentum from the drum kit. Lead single Feed My Head pairs upbeat rhythms and brighter riffs with macabre lyrics about shame and desire, producing a darkly melodic anthem with hauntingly memorable hooks that persist, still lingering long after it ends.

It’s the raw talent, chemistry and the genuine love for what they do that makes Croíthe stand out. What makes them more exciting is the hunger and drive they have to be successful. - Earwig
